The 2004 OHGinnyfan/Aggiebell Challenge...

Got my challenges from ohginnyfan this morning--and sent her hers. This will be fun! The rules (as I know them...feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, Susan!): We're to pick 1 of the 3 challenges and write a fic. The stories have to be finished by Friday, Oct 22, and should be at least 7 pages long (I think). We both decided that it's highly unlikely either of us will be able to match jeconais and his 45 pages in 5 days! Oh, and these can be any genre (fluff, humor, angst, etc).

1. Hogwarts: Neville Longbottom has finally decided he’s in love with Luna Lovegood. Only problem is, he’s not sure of her feelings. Figure out a way to have Neville and Luna discover their feelings. This challenge could ultimately work into your MTMTE universe if you so choose to have these two get together. H/G & R/Hr can be a minor pairing if you want.

2. Summer at the Dursleys: Non-shippy mostly- Tonks has been assigned to be the main minder of Harry while he’s imprisoned at the Dursleys between 6th and 7th year. Explore the friendship that forms between Harry and Tonks, and if you want to add a ship in there how about Remus/Tonks? You could have Tonks sort of share her feelings for Remus by accident with Harry, and use that as a subplot. You could "ship" H/G and R/Hr but not actively – in other words have Harry pining over Ginny or something like that – gone to Tonks for advice. Or have Harry complaining to her about R/Hr and lack of communication with his friends in the Wizarding world. You could also have Tonks hex Dudley for good measure. *laughs* If you want to use Remus as a character that actually participates, that is fine with me too.

3. Post-Howarts: James and Lily just completed their last year at Hogwarts and are in love. James has decided to propose, but doesn’t know exactly how to go about it. Lily has gone back to the Muggle world to collect her things from her childhood home, and James can’t decide if he should follow her to her parents house to pop the question or wait until she returns. Please be sure to include Sirius, Remus and Peter in the story in some context (if you so feel inclined to add R/S, I’m okay with that – I don’t ship it – since I basically ship R/Tonks—but I don’t oppose it either). I’ll allow you to decide if you want to have James propose at the Evans’s or wait until Lily returns to the wizarding world, but I’d love to see some interaction with James and Petunia (and Vernon if he’s around). I also wouldn’t mind seeing what Lily’s parents think of James, so I think a visit with the Muggles is definitely a must, even if he doesn’t propose there.

I'm leaning strongly toward challenge # 3 at the moment, although the other 2 certainly look interesting... I've never written anything that's not during the "current" time (i.e. during the time-period of Harry and the gang). And, it's a different couple!
